Mike (promoter) put on an excellent race with too many extras to count (I'll try anyway): live music all weekend, complementary pancake breakfasts and pasta dinners, showers, commemorative pint glasses, catering...
I call this my "coat-tail" kit (Addictive cycles kit fell off of the delivery truck...). The race was hot and dusty, typical west coast style; I finished 11th out of 30 starters.We rode 2 miles through the Firestone vineyard, followed by about 11 miles of up and down in the Ted Chamberlin ranch (from the top, you could see the Michael Jackson Never-Never land ranch; soon to be a subdivision).
Here's Krista hammering to the finish; she made a great pass at the end that led me to believe she might have held a little too much back ;)
Krista was 26th; this was a short race that didn't allow her to pick off the 4 or 5 girls towards the end.
